Why use custom on-off kits?
The impetus toward using custom kits in the dialysis
facility comes partly form the reimbursement rate
structure instituted in the early 1980’s. Basically the
dialysis facility is reimbursed at a fixed rate per
treatment regardless of the cost. Most astute
administrators and purchasing agents understand that the
cost of supplies is only one aspect of total treatment
costs.
What happens if we need to make a change?
A custom kit is not only functional but it is also
dynamic, this means that it can change over time. Our
kits are made on a month to month basis, so that you are
never “stuck” with a large supply of kits with
components you no longer need. Even with a standing
purchase order in place, the component listing can be
changed with a simple phone call.
What is the price of the kit?
Cost is of course determined by the components selected
in your custom kit. However, price and cost are two
different entities. How much does it cost for your staff
